One of the most overlooked steps in surface preparation is proper cleaning. Walls, trim, and exteriors collect dust, grease, smoke residue, and grime over time - and paint simply does not adhere well to dirty surfaces. On interior projects, we clean walls thoroughly before painting. On exterior projects, we often power wash the entire surface to remove years of buildup, dirt, and weathering. This step alone can make a dramatic difference in how well the paint bonds and how smooth the final result looks.
